Brutons the Bakers, in Cardiff, has installed a BERTO VMI mixer from European Process Plant Ltd (EPP) to replace a 25-year-old mixer with an efficient new solution. Through its seven retail shops and online storefront, Brutons the Bakers has been serving a vast range of bread, pastry products and cakes to the region since 1898.
At its Grangetown bakery, Brutons provides customers with bestsellers such as its multi-seed bread, jam doughnuts, choc flake cakes and custard slices. Having previously used EPP for bakery machinery and been impressed with the outcomes, Brutons the Bakers contacted EPP for support. Recognising the space limitations in the bakery, EPP recommended the VMI mixer to accommodate the small available footprint whilst increasing production and efficiency of its smaller bread doughs, Danish pastries, doughnuts and more.
